Here in the #Philippines it's more of a grassroots movement than a government push. Small enterprises supply and install solar energy to homes, establishments, and public utilities (like street lights).
If they have excess energy, they can resell it to the grid after registration.

Context on my end: There are many Filipino nurses in the UK, and for years many of them shared how they can quickly find homes and how they have other benefits. They left their families in the Philippines to uplift them from being poor.
