High-speed rail is not a boondoggle. *Highways* are a boondoggle. The biggest one ever foisted on the public. We pay through the nose for the world's most expensive transport system. $12,000 a year for car ownership in North America. And we still don't get to work on time.

Drivers and their cars get way more than their share of space on the streets of #Toronto and other cities. They also get to warehouse private vehicles (ie, park their cars), on public space. Then the #Ontario Conservatives squawk when strips are carved out for people on bicycles: bike lanes... ↓
