For the weekend crowd: "Networking for System Administrators, 2nd ed" now has a full Kickstarter page, with a book description and everything. It starts by confessing the title is a lie. https://mwl.io/ks I'd appreciate folks spreading the word. #sysadmin :flan_beg:

I have used 203.0.113.0/24 as my internal network for several years. It's reserved for documentation, and I write documentation, so that saved me much trouble. Amazon's Kindle has now blocklisted those addresses. Which means SWMBO's Kindle doesn't work. Time to renumber. :flan_piteous: #sysadmin
One of these years, I need to check out defcon. Or black hat. Or bsides lv. One of them things. Whichever.
Tonight's movie: 'I don't have FOMO. I have FOBI, Fear Of Being Included."
Author's Tranquility Press got my phone number, and they keep calling thinking that I'll pay them for promotion. ATP is 100% a scam. Also: my books are not promotable. Nothing anyone does could make people want to buy them. #writing
Every time someone asks me about "how I self-publish," I flash back to a q&a at a con I shall not name, where I was on the "authors who make a living" panel, but I was the indie one. A woman who probably meant well got the mic and said, "You do realize, sir, that this aggressive independence and hyper-self-reliance is nothing but a trauma response?" I looked her in the eye and said, "So is hyper-competence." So, yeah. That's how I make a living.
