I can sum up the reason I admire him very simply:
he's one of the world's great examples of "be fiercely and unapologetically yourself." He radiated a vision so striking and powerful that not even Hollywood could neuter it.

Working on the new Networking for Systems Administrators" today. You could help end the feuds between the sysadmins and netadmins by sponsoring it.
I would appreciate your support.

#writing a period piece set in a time I lived through is weirdly difficult.
I just wrote "black as Oliver North's soul." Do people remember North? Do they remember why he sucks? Do they remember the October Surprise?
Why North and not Reagan? If I spend the whole thing slamming Reagan it'll get monotonous. The 80s provided a sufficiently broad spectrum of douchebaggery that I can offer texture.
At least I'm not worried about the folks who think North's soul is pristine. Those people are not my readers.
How to not design your book covers. #selfpub
[ETA: I might be mistaken. This is either the worst cover, or the greatest in history. No middle option here.]
Big organizations have all sorts of problems that we employees can't help.
One problem I *can* help? The feud between the sysadmins and the network team.
I wrote the first edition of "Networking for System Administrators" in the hope that we tech flunkies would come together, freeing us to plot against the C-levels.
I'd appreciate your support for the new edition.
