 Minute Cryptic - 20 January, 2026 (yeah. Gosh I'm inflamed, with spondyloarthritis, which I think is chance exacerbated by being sedentary yesterday. Itcs not a good condition for hard physical labour but it's a worse condition for no physical labour and the worst think is the body is telling the mind not to do it. So one has to ignore that and do a bit even if it's not much. Preferably more than a bit. Ideas include attempting to do the Riverdance dance, cleaning out the cable draw, kicking a football in a field by myself, buying 14 value tins of baked beans at Sainsbury's and carrying them home in a bag for life, carrying big books, looking for things that don't exist, taking picture of Victorian and somewhat later postboxes, a lunchtime trip to the library, painting a picture, or dogging which I don't want to do because I haven't got a metal detector and it would exacerbate my back.) As an adult the principle problem with burning the candle at both ends is a greatly reduced chance of having adequate time to sleep it off. Today I have planned ahead for breakfast. Specifically 3 hours before breakfast when I put 20gm of raisins and a teaspoon of cocoa powder at the bottom of a bowl and topped it with 80gm of frozen redcurrants/blackcurrants/raspberries and sprinkled it with another teaspoon of cocoa. I've covered it and put it on the fridge to defrost. I'm eating it with 40gm of All Bran, 100gm of Greek yoghurt and 15gm of chia seeds.) I unfairly bismirched The Telegraph's cryptic book a bit anon. I am also quite hungry. This is in part because I'm back to a nearly vegan, mostly vegetarian, I suppose, diet, while I shed the 3kg or so I increased in weight over Christmas.
