Interestingβ¦ so both MySQL and Postgres are now doing this cleanup query - which deletes (with a join) all posts older than x which don't have a linked feed_post entry - in ~10-12s. But it seems for MySQL it's ~2s of looking up records and ~10s of deleting them, and for Postgres it's the opposite! π€
Ok, #MySQL is giving me a mindfuckβ¦ I have a DELETE that takes ~12-13s (every 30min). I did an EXPLAIN ANALYZE of that, and it runs in 2-6s. But if I do that explain a few times and then switch back to just DELETE, it deletes much more rows, so this all implies that the explain doesn't delete them?β¦
