The term โSocialismโ is tricky. It sounds good to some and bad to others.
Some of the worst regimes have used it to appeal to voters perhaps the most notorious being the National Socialist German Workers Party of the 1930s and 40s.
But governments that use the term to attract voters almost never do what they talked about prior to the election. Itโs always simply about gaining absolute power over the people. Itโs a con. The current best example would be the UK Labour Party.
