What a wonderful start to the Easter week and the kayak season. Still some ice left that resulted in a small detour.

Night Watch I have 3 hours of steering ahead of me. The Doors is put on the Walkman. Now it’s just me and The Doors awake. The wind sings along with the music and The Doors is getting a new feel to it. We cruise through the night at 6 knots quite routinely. A look over my shoulder reveals dark clouds. It looks like a squall is in the offing. Five minutes pass and the wind has increased to 18-19 m/s and it’s time to sit and steer. We have increased the speed to 8 knots, and it is roaring around the hull. The Doors music volume is set higher.» Riders of the Storm is the perfect soundtrack to the black night out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. 🌊⛵️⛈️
