Will you be one of my fellow volunteer directors for the Free and open source app store @npub1mtrk...trt0?
Expressions of interest will open in early February.
If you fancy getting stuck in, to shape a way of distributing FOSS apps to Android users, please do consider this.
Nominating yourself will be encouraged.
I'll toot again when applications are launched.
> [A] new criminal offence will make it illegal for companies to supply tools designed to create non-consensual intimate images, targeting the problem at its source.
Well, yes, if one considers trying to prosecute a non-UK company or its directors "targeting the problem". I imagine that this might run into problems in the USA.
In the same speech, the government defends staying on Twitter:
> It is also worth bearing in mind, with 19 million people on X in this country, and more than a quarter using it as their primary source of news, that our views – and often simply the facts – need to be heard.
*sigh*
If you've moved caldav from Nextcloud to Radicale, and had problems importing the resulting .ics file, how did you solve it, please?
I am at the point of watching Radicale's debug output and hand-editing the .ics file and trying again.
And that can't be right...
> Legal information giant Thomson Reuters – which has several horses in this race – says that lawyers expect their use of AI to free up about 140 working hours over 2026.
Tooted without comment.
Watching someone explain to a FOSS developer that they've never donated to their project "because it's FOSS" and that, unless the developer implements features X, Y, and Z *immediately*, they will continue not to donate in the future.
Yeah, really convincing.
And this is part of why we can't always have nice things.
