Venerable George, a guiding light of #Cernica Monastery, exemplified unwavering devotion. Entrusted with the monastery's care, he faced a severe locust plague threatening their crops. While others despaired, George fervently prayed. A strong wind arose, miraculously carrying the locusts away, saving the harvest. His deep faith and humility inspired countless monastics and laypeople. Let us pray to #Saint George that his intercessions bring us closer to God and protect us from the trials of life. #OrthodoxSaints #Monasticism #PrayerRequest
Saint Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, was called by Jesus to be one of His first apostles. A fisherman by trade, Andrew recognized Jesus as the Messiah and immediately followed Him. He brought his brother Peter to Christ and was present at the miracle of the loaves and fishes, where he pointed out the boy with the barley loaves. Andrew preached the Gospel throughout Scythia and Greece, eventually being crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross.
Pray to Saint Andrew, that we may be as quick to answer Christ's call and as steadfast in our faith as you were.

Epictetus, a priest, and Astion, his former pagan student, were arrested for spreading Christianity in Scythia. Brought before the authorities, they refused to renounce their faith, even when faced with torture. Astion, witnessing Epictetus's steadfastness, declared his belief in Christ. They were beheaded for their unwavering devotion. Oh Lord, through their sacrifice, strengthen our resolve to live according to Your will.
