I wish I had a workshop or a garage. Feeling the urge to tinker with something other than electronics for a change. I miss the days of when I used to mod/work on my car and would end up with extra screws when I was finished putting it all back together and would have to start all over again 🥴

I'm a little confused.. and very well may be misunderstanding something here. Currently working with AWS support to try and increase the # of concurrent Lambda executions I can have running in a particular region. My account limit is the default 1000 executions but later learned that each region has specific limits which can be as low as 10 concurrent executions and I need to apply for a request to increase that for each specific region I want to run in. Right now I have many functions in EU being throttled under VERY low volume. What I am unclear on is why this limit is in place and so low for that matter? Anyone have more info on the rationale? Their docs and support dept don't really explain the WHY behind this. Wouldn't you want to remove obstacles from your customers increasing usage and therefore revenue for the business? So far their support has been responsive and helpful but this seems like a real PIA and preventing me from deploying to other regions like Asia/Pacific.

Already booked planned my week in Tokyo during Nostrasia but need to buckle down today and plan out the second week of the trip. Anyone else planning on heading down to Kyoto and Osaka the week after?

Continued wrenching on the serverless relay this week: - Removed Cloudfront distributions from the equation, now using a custom domain with Route 53 latency based routing policies - RDS Postgres replica is consistently < 1 second replication lag upon db write between the primary instance (us-east-1) and replica (eu-central-1) - Synthetic tests run from US and EU are running every minute and producing pretty consistently results (still need to try to cut down latency from lambda invocations) - Still getting getting a fair number of 410 GoneException errors when replying to clients, continuing to dig into this :(
