Two things had a huge influence on the CDC shooting:
1οΈβ£ The head of HHS spreading antivax rhetoric
2οΈβ£ Social media companies failing to address rampant antivax misinformation on their platforms
Why are some people still spreading misinformation that "masks only work when everyone wears one," and use it as a personal excuse not to mask as "no-one else is."
It isn't all or nothing. While it's safer when more people mask because there's less virus in the air, a well-fitting mask protects you even if no-one else masks.
"COVID & flu mRNA vaccine research built a lot of basic technology that you can use to treat other diseases like cancer, diabetes & Alzheimer's. Thatβs now under threat.
These funding cuts make the US β & the world β more vulnerable to disease outbreaks and less able to treat chronic illnesses.
Just imagine all of the countless lives that we could save if we funded science & made sure this technology was continued to be supported."

No one who has spread rhetoric that has incited attacks on dedicated scientists and healthcare workers should be allowed to hold government leadership positions or elected office. Period.
Antivaxxers love falsely accusing scientists of censorship but in reality they are the ones trying censor science.
RFK Jr just tried bullying a scientific journal into retracting a major study of 1.2 β―million kids that found that aluminum in vaccines do not increase the risk of autism or asthma. The journal refused.
