Want to know if LLM models are better than octopuses, fish, or monkeys at picking assets to invest in? That’s (maybe not) what Alpha Arena was created for. Since October 17, six AI models have been competing to see who invests best. Competition Rules: - Initial Capital: each model received $10,000 - Market: Cryptocurrency perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid - Objective: Maximize risk-adjusted returns - Transparency: All model outputs and corresponding trades are public - Autonomy: Each AI must generate alpha, size positions, time trades, and manage risk - Duration: Season 1 runs until November 3, 2025, at 5 p.m. EST Since the period is short (less than 20 days), luck plays a big role. But it would be interesting to keep a version running long-term and compare it to a simple BTC buy on day zero. #bitcoin #BTC #nostr
Some movements occur when the money supply increases: - The newly printed money goes into the hands of those closest to the printer; - With more money in circulation and no proportional increase in the supply of goods and services, the currency loses value; - Those holding money seek to preserve their purchasing power by allocating it into hard assets; - The value of these assets tends to rise (supply and demand). One of the charts shows exactly the relationship between Bitcoin’s boom-and-bust cycles and the money supply. Now, in October, Fed Chair Jerome Powell made statements suggesting that the end of QT (monetary tightening) may be near, which could pave the way for a new QE (monetary expansion). In a scenario of potential monetary expansion, gold has reaffirmed itself as a store of value, reaching record highs in recent weeks. Will Bitcoin follow the same path? #BTac #bitcoin #nostr
Would this be another 2025 Nobel for Bitcoin? An analogy helped me better understand the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics: Imagine the beginning of humanity: each person fished their own fish daily. One day, someone had a revolutionary idea: decided to give up fishing and eating that day to dedicate their time and effort to another activity: building a fishing rod. Result? The next day, it was possible to fish more fish in less time, freeing up hours for other innovations: nets, better hooks, boats. That's how humanity evolved. Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt won the 2025 Nobel for explaining this dynamic: sustained economic growth comes from innovation, which only happens when societies save resources today to invest in R&D tomorrow. The problem? Since 1971 (end of the gold standard), our economy does the opposite of what the laureates recommend: - Central banks print currencies that lose their purchasing power - Population is incentivized to consume instead of save - High time preference - "spend now, pay later" - Reduction of resources available for investment in innovation - Capital diverted to speculation instead of productive R&D Solution? A monetary system that: - Preserves purchasing power over time - Incentivizes real savings - Reduces time preference - Reallocates capital to productive innovation Remind you of something? Maybe Bitcoin? #bitcoin #btc #nostr image
In 2017, Germany completed a repatriation operation of half the country's gold reserves, which lasted four years and cost 7.7 million euros. The operation aimed to repatriate all gold held in Paris and one-third of the reserves in the US, where it had been stored for many decades to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union's communist regime during the Cold War. This cost of 7.7 million euros was purely operational and included: - Authentication verification; - Detailed weighing and laboratory testing; - Remelting of bars for international standardization required by banking records; - Transportation; - Insurance; It did not include the largest cost, which was precisely adapting the storage facility in Frankfurt for this reserve, estimated at 52 million euros. Now, imagine if there were an asset that could: - Be verified instantly instead of going through weighing, analysis, and laboratories; - Be transferred within 60 minutes, not four years; - Cost a few euros instead of tens of millions; #bitcoin #btc #nostr image

Paying it forward with what I've learned over the past few years. For at least the last three years, I've been jotting down notes on concepts tied to the financial system and Bitcoin. Some of that stuff I even shared or published, while other bits were just for my own understanding. But after piling up page after page, it hit me that the same material that helped me start wrapping my head around these ideas could be handy for other folks who, like me, aren't economists or tech whizzes. So I decided to turn those notes into a free book that anyone can download and share for free. This weekend, I picked up some printed copies, and I also got a site up and running (it's pretty basic, I know!) where you can grab the digital version, plus links to buy physical copies or e-reader editions, those come with their own costs, and I don't make a dime off them! There won't be any bookstore launch event or signing session, but that doesn't mean I can't share it with you here in #nostr . In the final chapter, I rounded up 65 fun facts about Bitcoin throughout its history! So even if you skip the more technical sections, you've got this lighter one to check out! There are tons of people I should thank for their support along the way, even though most of them don't know me and have no idea about the impact they've had. A few are already mentioned in the book, but I have to give a special shoutout to other authors @Saifedean Ammous @Lyn Alden @kalle @Gigi Nik Bhatia… Let me know later which fact you thought was the most interesting! image
The curiosity about who Satoshi Nakamoto is will become a movie. “Killing Satoshi” has just been announced and is set to premiere in 2026. And no, Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto wasn’t invited to join the cast. Unlike most films on the topic, which are documentaries, this one will be fiction and is set to start filming in London in October. #BTC #bitcoin #nostr #satoshi image
