I’ve decided to reorganize my social presence a bit. I will continue using this account as I have up until now, but I will also use my "old" Akkoma instance (which I used in 2022 and part of 2023 - @npub13329...xuwh ) for more general, casual posts (public or follower-only, depending on privacy), everyday things, scattered thoughts – both in English and Italian. A sort of small daily diary of little things, without "cluttering" my profile on BSD Cafe. It’s an experiment - I’ve tried in the past to separate accounts, but the result was just extreme fragmentation, and I ended up going back to a single account (plus snac, of course). In this case, I plan to increase the frequency of posts, sharing more "frivolous" or general things on the "private" one.

I suddenly had a flashback: the time when, as a child, I dreamed of creating video games. Then I bought the S.E.U.C.K. and realized that with my drawing skills, I could at best create some text-based games. Which I did, but only for a short time. Now I’m curious. Client: Help, emergency. I have 24 hours to move my workload to another server. What do we do? Me, five minutes later: "Done. Your workload is now running on the new server." Client: "How did you move over 200GB with just a minute of downtime, from one provider to another and in a different country?" Me: "Thanks to FreeBSD, ZFS, and a little bit of proactive planning." I have a task that replicates all the VMs from one server to another every 15 minutes using zfs-send/zfs-receive. This VM connects to a VPN with two reverse proxies. Meaning, when I move this VM, we don’t need to change any IPs since it’s not directly exposed. I powered it off, cloned the differences in seconds, and restarted it. Client in disbelief.
