A joyful day on my own: record shopping in Middlesbrough (lots of excellent finds), followed by a couple of hours beach-walking in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, with fish+chips to finish the day off before the drive home. All that sea air has made me sleepy, an early night calls...
A plan is forming. Middlesbrough Record Fair, and if that's crap come back via Leeds. If it's not, then divert via Saltburn and go beach-walking for an hour or two, maybe have some fish and chips. Yes, that works. Yay.
Just have to hope and pray Gertie lasts through to the end of next week.
I originally planned to spend today and Monday buying a van but it seems that three (!) clients haven't set up payments before the Xmas shutdown so I'm postponing that 'just in case'... 🙄
Quite a few record fairs going on today round the UK. Although the Leeds Corn Exchange one's on, it tends to be light on decent 7s so I'm sorely tempted to drive to the Middlesbrough fair instead.
It's Saturday, in case anyone was wondering.
Also, signs I've been working too much recently: dreaming about explaining to the MD about stock counting methods used in reports, to explain a discrepancy between systems. I think I might have also dreamed a solution to something too.
Now the kids are grown up there's sod all to do on Boxing Day. I even just looked to see if the gym was open but nah. Might head into the office and work, at least I'll get paid for that.
Sodding bank holidays then weekend. Incoming client payments up the spout, stuff stuck in the postal system, documentation not raised then stuck until things start moving again next week, everything grinds to a halt. Tedious. This time of year does my head in.
Sparky's Magic Piano. Kraftwerk, Lou Reed and Cher can feck off, this is hands down the best use of a vocoder *ever*. #JuniorChoice #BBCRadio2 #BBCR2
