We finally have a schedule for the event this weekend in Berlin! Come join us if you're interested in mobile Linux, image-based OSes, local-first, GNOME app design, and everything in between 🪴 #gnome #postmarketos #localfirst #berlin image
A bit last-minute this time, but we have a hackfest/release event coming up next weekend in Berlin feat. @npub1vnux...8mqn, @npub1a2z8...v48a, and more! More details to follow, but here's a teaser :P #gnome #postmarketos #localfirst #berlin image
While we're still not moving as fast as I'd like with Circle reviews, I'm happy that we managed to get 6 new apps accepted during the 47 cycle 🥳 By the way, the Circle committee is always looking for new reviewers. If you're somewhat familiar with GNOME app development practices and design patterns and would like to help, please get in touch :) image
Finally took the time to log into Patreon and support @npub13cxe...8wv9! I highly recommend doing the same if you'd like to see image editing in Loupe 🖼️✨ https://www.patreon.com/sophieh #gnome #gtk
The recording for my talk from Berlin Mini GUADEC about the GNOME STF project is now online! Probably the talk with the least preparation and sleep I've ever given, but hopefully interesting nevertheless. I'm very sad that @npub133lh...pfxe was not allowed to give the talk with me as planned. He is the heart and soul of the STF project, and none of this would have been possible without him. #BerlinMiniGUADEC
I've been trying to do more Circle reviews lately, and I've noticed that a lot of apps have very similar papercuts. Some of the classics are: - Not using the standard keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl+, for opening preferences) - Missing a11y labels on buttons - Longer blocks of text not being screen reader accessible - Focus borders being weirdly shaped/glitchy Maybe having a little checklist for app devs to do themselves before applying could catch some of these?
