In the latest episode of the NGI0 podcast we talk to Adrian Georgescu. He was part of the Voice over IP revolution & in this episode you’ll learn much about that history and the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). With his company AG projects, Adrian created Blink, a pure SIP client and Sylk Suite which combines SIP with WebRTC. He also talks about what it’s like to run a #FOSS company & having to compete with Big Tech offering services for free. #NGI #NGIZero #podcast

badkeys is an open source tool to check cryptographic keys for known vulnerabilities. Its developer @npub1syue...3cq9 gave a talk at German OWASP Day where he discussed how old bugs never die. He tested for the Debian OpenSSL bug discovered in 2008 & found hundreds of DKIM setups still vulnerable. Vulnerable hosts included prominent names like Cisco, Oracle, Skype, and Github. But he sees even older vulns including one which is over 300 years old. Watch the talk here: #NGI #NGI0

Let's get rid of all the binary blobs. In S01E02 of the NGI0 podcast we talk to Janneke, founder of GNU Mes. The project helped to significantly reduce the number & size of binary seeds used in the bootstrap of GNU Guix 1.0. He talks about working on GNU Mes, its community, NGI0 funding & calls for a 5th freedom: freedom 4. The freedom to build a program from source. "If you can't build a binary from source, how would you exercise freedom 0?" #FOSS #NGI0 #NGI #podcast
New! The NGI Zero podcast where we talk to the people who are building the Next Generation Internet. :) In S01E01 our guest is Joep Meindertsma of Atomic Data. The issue he sees with today’s internet is the siloing of data. It leads to users being locked into Big Tech ecosystems and it's hard to reuse data. Joep explains how Atomic Data, a modular specification for sharing, modifying and modelling data, addresses this problem. #semanticweb #podcast #foss #NGI0 #NGI
