Fun legal fact of the day: Florence, Oregon, where federal agents famously (and illegally) used a thermal imager to detect Danny Kyllo's indoor grow operation in 1992, is the same oceanfront community that, in 1970, famously (and disastrously) tried to dispose of a beached whale carcass using explosives.

I'm a bit disappointed that the jewel heist at the Louvre just involved a truck and some mopeds. It should require at least a helicopter, secret tunnels, and lasers.

Bolton indictment (unauthorized transmission and retention of national defense information) dropped. 📄.pdf From a quick read: this appears to involve his own summarized "diary" entries, both written and emailed (to his publisher/editor, perhaps), rather than actual marked classified documents. This likely means that at trial they'll need to prove that each fact alleged in the docs/emails was actually classified at the time and not summarized from public or unclassified info.
