My favourite reply guy of the year was the one who told me, when I complained about how much I hate funerals that ‘they are for the living’. Thank you. That completely changed my perspective. All of the funerals I’ve attended to date have been in the rôle of the deceased and I had never thought to consider how the other people felt. Idiot.
