You’re trying to find the exact number where the average person goes, „Ah yes. I have been professionally bamboozled“, lol, but here’s the twist: the answer isn’t a number. It’s a setting from my point of view.
Some people have their skepticism knob permanently set to „factory default“ and some never installed the update.
And that’s where #unschooling comes in. Because when you’re unschooled, you’re not trained to memorize answers and trust the authority that handed them to you. You’re trained to ask, „Wait… does this actually make sense????“
You learn pattern recognition, not obedience. So after Lie #3, you’re already side-eyeing the calculator and questioning who programmed it. Unschooling doesn’t guarantee you won’t be lied to, but what I see, it just makes sure you don’t keep counting lies like they’re Pokémon you’re supposed to collect.
In short: Unschooling isn’t about avoiding education. It’s about avoiding the math problem where the solution is „believe them harder“.
