been thinking about Jacques Ellul and The Technological Society and I have a #nostr philosophy question... he describes technique as the totality of methods rationally arrived at and having absolute efficiency, and that the focus on efficiency creates a closed system that perpetuates itself, making it difficult for humanity to break free. privacy, permissionlessness, and redundancy are often the enemy of efficiency. when is it appropriate to sacrifice one of these for efficiency? in your opinion?
