The argument „AI is here to stay“ is no argument. You get a bunch of semi-experts which are paid $250/h by the corporation that rented them for you. Sure, the can help your project, if handled correctly and supervised closely by your volunteers. Do you expect that subsidy to continue forever? Or do you expect them to really cost nothing soon? Please explain. #foss #ai
The Ruler and the Wizard watched the city go up in flames with people lobbing fireballs at each other. R: „Explain to me again why you gave everyone magic for free.“ W: „Actually, the free tier only contains a small amount of Mana…“ R: „Enough to incinerate your neighbour?“ W:“…uhm, maybe someone has been too generous. We‘ll adjust that down. Fireballs will only be available in the paid tiers…“ R pulls out a dagger: „How much?“ W:“Uhm…nothing the popluace could afford?“ R:“Excellent!“
I know, I‘m supposed to feel glad when an AI finds the code corners that my improvements did not cover, but could! Yay! But do we need someone, always next to us, commenting about the spots behind the cupboard that we missed to clean up (but cannot be trusted to do it itself)? If it were human, wouldn‘t we feel like punching it after a while? I seem to be reaching that point… It is definitely unfun.
‚Top line, guys: all this makes you look like what your president likes to call a “shithole country”.‘
