I generally think there are way too many municipalities and arbitrary divisions in BC. We could be a lot more efficiently governed, and fairly taxed, if these were ironed out. The more than a dozen entities in the Capital Regional District are the prime example. I hope amalgamation of Saanich and Victoria happens. Today I learned there is a solitary, elderly yellow bellied marmot named Roger that lives at the Fairmont Empress hotel in Victoria, BC. He's not really supposed to be there (we only have mountain marmots here on Vancouver Island), but he's called the place home for 17 years and lives off the manicured gardens. lol.
