I’ve been told the following is a conspiracy and not aligned to the broader progressive movement
Well maybe the progressive movement needs to change, because that’s pretty fucked up 🙃
Here’s what I said to elicit this response
“The cover up of Epstein will continue. Everyone knows he was a government asset (multiple governments) and details involve at least hundreds of powerful individuals and institutions from around the world.
It’s a disgusting and grave injustice, get louder. #Epstein #Epsteinfiles
Progressives love to boycott corporate brands as a part of their movement.
What about the government itself? If it’s not by the people, for the people, what are we doing?
Opt out *is* a political strategy to get the system, and those vying for your vote, to wake up.
In 2015 I remember arguing with friends about this. We were all so infuriated about how the DNC tanked Bernie’s campaign, the attacks he faced, and how it inorganically propped up Hillary.
We were told “just vote for Hillary.”
Look at where complacency got us
The political class machine that works for the preservation of itself, not the people, is alive and well.
I’ve spent a lot of time over the past several years talking to progressives and the left, my “people” historically, about the Good of Bitcoin.
But I think that is missing the point, and the wrong framing…it keeps being a losing battle convincing people about morals in a neutral technology.
Is the internet good or bad? Is electricity just for the ‘right’ people? Of course not. And we don’t profess to put morals on something like electricity, or the internet, or automobile, the cell phone, etc.
The truth is, Bitcoin is a neutral technology, just like any other tool we use every day. It can empower people, support freedom, and yes, it can be used by “bad people” too—just like any technology. Let’s not judge or put morals on this technology in ways we don’t do with most other technologies.
Instead, let’s focus on how Bitcoin can promote financial freedom and give everyone access to a fairer financial system. Let’s focus on the use cases we wish to see in the world, as I fight for Bitcoin as freedom tech, promoting democracy, freedom fighters, empowerment, and agency for everyone. And yes, aside from Bitcoin, I also like to advocate for freedom and things beyond just Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not a he said she said of if it is Good or Bad. It’s technology that can be tremendously powerful. Many of us are utilizing it for good.
