The #proofofwork contest taking up shape.
Vietnamese craftmansship transforming Sats into a wooden Pull-up bar for the upcoming Satoshi Flea Market.
Stay solid & show us what you got on the 14th 💪

The event is going into it's 4th iteration & has established itself as public come-together for the wider community in Vietnam.
We purposefully look to connect the "hard core" of the Bitcoin community with people *around* the Bitcoin community who might have not yet "taken the orange pill", but otherwise show aligned ethics & long-term thinking.
Building relationships that compound and viewing the world on a long time horizon.
Doing the right moves and bringing sacrifices today for a better tomorrow.
How can you support your Bitcoin frens in Saigon in this undertaking?
1) Spread the word :-)
If you know people for which this event might be an interesting fit - send'em along
2) Visit!
...if you are in town by chance, come'on by and have a chat with the local Bitcoiner crew assembled!
3) Become a vendor!
...in case you're around town and have sth to offer which might be of good use to some of the community members, get a booth and show what you got :-)
"Remote booths" are also possible - albeit we highly prefer of course if we have the faces behind the works on site as well to have a good chat about what inspires & drives you.
4.) Last but not least:
Donate!
The event is fully run by a volunteer crew of our community, however, there are *still* some modest costs attached to organize the whole event as a pleasant experience for everyone.
Venue rent, various logistical items, tents and a some logistical support for the event setup are affordable in Vietnam - but not free.
...and the kids attractions which we'll have on site also don't pay for themselves :-)
We are currently working on a basis of an estimated budget of 1,000,000 Sats - if you had a good year and have some Sats to spare for your Saigon frens, we would be highly appreciative!
Some impressions from the Christmas Flea Market 2024:

(...build your local pleb network & skip the global hubs:
As we intentionally keep the booth vendor fees at a very low cost to keep the event accessible and community-based to allow also small home-based craft- & artisanal food makers to display their wares...
...we are dependent on the goodwill of the wider community to support these events to keep them sustainable as a regular gathering space for the local Bitcoin community...
...and "promising pre-coiners" who do good work for the wider community, but might not (yet) have fully taken the orange pill
To state it differently:
This whole event was made possible by anon plebs from around the world who over the previous weeks used the power of the Bitcoin & Lightning network to support the orange cause in 🇻🇳- entirely permissionless.
"wHaT cAn bItCoIn bE uSeD fOr?!?" finds an answer right here.
A real world event with real world impact made possible and powered by Bitcoin - donated by dozens of anon donors globally, from a few Sats to more sizeable amounts.
We also would like to thank the ⚡️infrastructure & service providers @Geyser & @Alby who made it really simple to spread the awareness of the event & accept donations - the tooling build by these teams played a decent role to make the event the success it was.
A special shout out also to our sponsor @Neutron who jumped in to help fill some of the remaining budget gap - another team that is building Lightning infrastructure at the cutting edge over here in Asia
We hope to see you around for more at the Christmas Flea Market 2025 - follow along for how you can support or ideally join in in person!🙂
