The RAM price increases are real. Hyperscalers have pre-bought giant HDDs years in advance, so if you are desperate enough you switch ahead of schedule to SSD High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) has greater margins than DDR4/5 and is in demand for GPU manufacturing which is causing early reduction of DDR4 production. All the AI datasets need all the RAM. So, unless the AI bubble bursts we are in for high price SSD, GPU, Phones, anything that needs quality memory for the foreseeable future. We are entering the new normal.
