I donated to the first #MST3k Kickstarter, but ultimately I wasn't really a fan of what they ended up making. It's nobody's fault. The on-camera cast was top notch. Wasn't nuts about the new Crow/Tom voices, but I gave them a chance -- I wasn't into Bill Corbett's Crow initially, now I love 'em as much as Trace's. But the new ones never clicked, and the greater fiction around it just kinda... meh.
But the real important part, the riffs, were hit or miss, but generally mediocre to me.
There's other little nitpicks I could get into, but that's the gist. So I didn't help fund the subsequent Kickstarter campaigns.
Meanwhile, #Rifftrax -- sans lovable robots or other gimmicks -- has remained solid as hell over the years, and continues to crank out comedy gold to this day.
So. Take that as you will.
But also take this: THEY'RE TOGETHER AGAIN for a brief run! Where do I slide my credit card?! WHERE DO I SLIDE IT?? ;)
