I've been using these two for awhile now, and my thoughts are that they are completely indistinguishable as outdoor knives. And although they weigh similar, the outdoorsman is bottom heavy due to the steel guard and buttcap. I already know how much I like the SRK because I've mucked up the cheaper SK5 version for about a year now, so taking out the outdoorsman is more or less me finding anything to justify it over the CPM 3V version of the SRK. But for me, there is none. That's not me saying the outdoorsman is lesser, just that they're so similar it'll come down to preference. And that preference is the SRK. Especially the 3V version. The bonebreaker on the outdoorsman makes a good scraper, but so does the sharp false edge on the SRK. That said, the outdoorsman is very pretty. and I was suprised on the level of polish from a Taiwan knife. Almost as pretty as my trailmaster. Though if I use the outdoorsman more, that polish will fade. image
