Small-leaf sandalwood – Thousand-Armed Guanyin
A standard Buddhist statue, depicting Guanyin Bodhisattva standing on a lotus throne with her feet apart. The main arms are joined in prayer, holding ritual implements, while the other arms extend to her sides. Although densely packed like a screen, the arrangement is harmonious and well-balanced, with each arm holding a different implement. The face is full and the features are softly sculpted, fully expressing the compassionate nature of Buddha. The overall proportions are balanced, with rich layers, creating a dignified and solemn appearance.
