in the early 1980s #StewartCowley's #TerranTradeAuthorityHandbook series was released as magazines in Germany. when I learned about them in the late 90s these were already collectors pieces. they contain a lot of great #scifiart and endless far future history and technical descriptions. you can flip through an English version here:
