Wow !!! NIST boulder has been on generator power since Dec 17, the generators are starting to fail. Already time has drifted by apx 4 nanoseconds (about a 5000x difference in accuracy.
I know that at least some crypto methods rely on accurate time, how long can those functions still work with the boulder NIST out of action? Are there other clock sources that feed the system?
I never gave this eventuality much thought... We take accurate time for granted, but now just one more thing to worry about as the collapse moves forward.
