"*Voting has not and never will alter the basic nature of the State.* The State is the institutionalized agency of theft (taxes), violence (regulation), and murder (war). Voting for a different murderer (politician) or an altered rate of theft ('tax reform') serves no purpose but to allow statists to claim a 'mandate' to do whatever *they* deem to be in 'the national interest.' Or state interest. Or county or city.
Voting *sanctions* the State.
What, then, does *refusing* to vote do? It is, in the deepest sense, the most profound vote one can make. It is a vote of *no confidence* in the ruling State. It is the steadfast, principled rejection of the sham of 'democracy' that allows a tiny minority of 'voters,' 'duly elected officials,' and bureaucrats to use the laws, guns, troops, and might of the State to oppress and control the vast majority who refuse, or are forbidden, to vote." - Samuel Edward Konkin III in MLL Pamphlet No. 10 (1987)
