"*Voting has not and never will alter the basic nature of the State.* The State is the institutionalized agency of theft (taxes), violence (regulation), and murder (war). Voting for a different murderer (politician) or an altered rate of theft ('tax reform') serves no purpose but to allow statists to claim a 'mandate' to do whatever *they* deem to be in 'the national interest.' Or state interest. Or county or city. Voting *sanctions* the State. What, then, does *refusing* to vote do? It is, in the deepest sense, the most profound vote one can make. It is a vote of *no confidence* in the ruling State. It is the steadfast, principled rejection of the sham of 'democracy' that allows a tiny minority of 'voters,' 'duly elected officials,' and bureaucrats to use the laws, guns, troops, and might of the State to oppress and control the vast majority who refuse, or are forbidden, to vote." - Samuel Edward Konkin III in MLL Pamphlet No. 10 (1987) πŸ“„.pdf #Agorism #Agorist #Libertarian #Libertarianism #LibertarianLeft #Anarchism #Anarchist #Antistate #SEK3 #A3 #CounterEconomcis #Vote #Voting #Midterms #2026Election #2028Election #Quotestr
This is another issue coming from the State having a monopoly on identification: What if the State just doesn't want to provide you an identity? You're effectively screwed since every entity you come across will require government-issued ID in some way, shape, or form. It is also an infringement on freedom of expression. View quoted note β†’

I'm thinking about making a tier list for Hoppe's books. What would your tier lists look like? #AskNostr
"The more paper laws have been more legal uncertainty and moral hazard has been created, and lawlessness has displaced law and order. And while we have become ever more dependent, helpless, impoverished, threatened and insecure, the ruling elite of politicians and plutocrats has become increasingly richer, more corrupt, dangerously armed, and arrogant." - Hans-Hermann Hoppe, ***From Aristocracy to Monarchy to Democracy*** (2014) p. 61 https://mises.org/library/book/aristocracy-monarchy-democracy #AnCap #AnarchoCapitalism #Libertarian #Libertarianism #Antistate #Antigovernment #Freedom #Liberty #Aristocracy #Monarchy #Democracy #PrivateLawSociety #Quotestr
"The reason this institution [of private property] leads to the greatest possible production of wealth is straightforward. Any deviation from this set of rules implies, by definition, a redistribution of property titles (and hence of income) away from user-producers and contractors of goods and onto non-user-producers and noncontractors. As a consequence, any such deviation implies that there will be relatively less original appropriation of resources whose scarcity is realized, there will be less production of new goods, less maintenance of existing goods, and less mutually beneficial contracting and trading. This naturally implies a lower standard of living in terms of exchangeable goods and services. Further, the provision that only the first user (not a later one) of a good acquires ownership assures that productive efforts will be as high as possible *at all times.* Further, the provision that only the physical integrity of property (not property values) be protected guarantees that every owner will undertake the greatest possible *value*-productive efforts, i.e., efforts to promote favorable changes in property values and to prevent or counter any unfavorable changes in property values (as they might result from another person’s actions regarding his property). Thus, any deviation from these rules also implies reduced levels of value productive efforts at all times." - Hans-Hermann Hoppe, ***The Economics and Ethics of Private Property*** (2006) p. 332-333. 2nd ed. RIP Michael Parenti. There are many things I disagreed with him on, but I still respect him for calling out the State. image #Agorism #Agorist #Libertarian #Antistate #Antigovernment #UnalienableRights #FirstAmendment #1A #FreeSpeech #FreedomOfExpression #FreeAssociation
