I just finished "being mortal" by Atul Gawande – had it for a long while but never felt like reading it. recently i finally felt like i was ready to meet this book. i regularly write about meeting people where they are, i realised it is possible to find books that meet us where we are too. no one likes to talk about growing old, having a terminal illness, end-of-life care, and dying – but denying these conversations will make us unable to cope with these situations when the time comes.
