The nasty WaymoGate situation in SF can't help but remind me of the great 1969 film "The Italian Job" starring Michael Caine (not the useless 2003 remake). A traffic control computer is sabotaged to jam up traffic all through Turin, except for ONE secret escape route to be used during a gold heist. Substitute brain-dead Waymo robotaxis for confused traffic lights and you have a parallel plot. I do recommend the film highly, especially for its legendary chase scene and very well balanced ending.
