When the next Democratic president gets in -- and I do feel that this will happen though likely after considerable turmoil -- on Day One they should fire every single Trump appointee throughout the federal government, now that the Supreme Court has cleared the way for such actions. Strip his name off everything where he had it placed. No delays, no evaluations, no "trying to be fair". Fire them all. Wipe the slate clean. Then the rebuilding can commence. And if that ballroom is actually built by then, convert it into a homeless shelter or other appropriate public service use.

The Internet is so royally f*cked up now. I was there pretty much from the beginning and I publicly predicted early on that these days would eventually come, but I didn't think it would come this fast and this bad. Even more disturbing, I'm unsure that even with what I know now that there were specific, practical actions that could have been taken that would have prevented most of this rot. They might have even made things worse. What a nightmarish thought.
