General amnesty for political prisoners in Venezuela The interim president has announced a new law that is expected to be debated and approved next week. The pardon could extend to hundreds of political prisoners still incarcerated from the governments of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, many of whom face open legal proceedings. The announcement comes almost a month after the releases began, which have been slow and gradual since U.S. forces captured Nicolás Maduro in the early hours of January 3. More than 800 prisoners have been released since then, according to the Chavista regime—302, according to the prisoners' advocates.
Today I want to share a new set of photographs, this time focusing on the urban landscape of my city. image This type of photography has great sentimental value for me because it was through these scenes that I first fell in love with the art of photography. Let me explain: image I am currently 27 years old, but I actually started taking photos when I was 16. Guess what my first type of photography to explore was? That’s right: urban landscape photography. image This city has always seemed very beautiful to me, it is built on mountains that offer impressive views from the high parts of the city. Besides that, wherever you look, you always see trees, and I love that. Compared to the rest of Venezuela, it is a city that is quite organized, and its inhabitants are very kind. It’s not for nothing that it is called "the city of cordiality." Looking back in retrospect, it doesn't surprise me at all that my style evolved toward street photography, as many more stories are hidden within these urban shots that I can tell through my lens. image By taking these photos, I learned both the art of photography and how to master my camera, literally through practice in the street, which, in my opinion, is the best way to learn. image There might be other ways, but at least for me, it worked. Here I am, seeing the fruits of all this consistency. After more than 11 years of taking photos almost daily, the camera feels like an extension of my hand. In a matter of seconds, I can dial in the correct settings to achieve the exact photo I want. I took all the photographs with my Canon R8 camera and a 50mm f/4 lens. I hope you found both the photos and the story behind them as interesting as I did. Thanks for everything! If i can earn at least 1k sats from this content i could end earning the whole montly earning from nostr #photography #photostr
image Today I want to share the second part of this outdoor photography session I did for a young man. While the previous photos were for his birthday, the reason for these is different: in Venezuela, there is a tradition of "estrenar" clothes in December. Basically, it means wearing brand new clothes that you have never worn before on December 24th and 31st. As you might have guessed, the two outfits you see in this set of photographs are the clothes this guy will wear as his "brand new clothes" for those two special days in December. I’m not sure if this is a tradition in other countries, but at least here in Venezuela, it is something sacred, especially for the children of the houses. Within this tradition, there are even some unwritten rules. For example: December 24th: You wear nice, new clothes, but they are usually more casual. December 31st: You wear something more "elevated" or even formal to welcome the New Year in the best possible attire. Next oufit change: As you can see in the photos, we explored different areas of the location to have variety in the photographs. The guy didn't have much experience with photography sessions, so I guided him through all the poses. I took all the photos with my Canon R8 camera, a 50mm 1.8/f lens and a 50cm flash with a diffuser. At the end of the session, both the guy and I were super happy with the results. I hope you like them as much as we did! #photography #photostr
