I'm back today with a new set of black and white photos, this time of the buildings in my city.
This is a very small city, and there aren't many truly big or "tall" buildings. I think there are fewer than 100, which is a very high number to state. So I came up with the idea of photographing them as I see them. This is how I've been slowly collecting these photos, and perhaps through them, you can learn a little more about the architecture of this city.
The first photo I'll show you is one of my favorites because of its facade. This is the city's government building, where all kinds of paperwork and legal matters are handled:
The next photo follows the theme of "patterns," this time with a newer, residential building:
I took this photo from a corner, and it was quite intentional. I wanted the supermarket, the palm trees, and the building in the background to be visible in the photo. My intention was to give the impression that this is a very good residential area to live in:
More residential buildings, all constructed in very different years, in various parts of the city, and with unique facades!
This is the most luxurious building in the city. An apartment there is very expensive ($200k+), and although the whole residence complex is gigantic, only a couple of people live there:
The next photo is of a supermarket in the city, it's very large!
A church:
A university. It's interesting that it's vertical:
And the buildings you'll see in the background of this photo are a shopping mall that was once the most advanced of its time, but one day it had a fire, and it was never restored after that:
