PoW⚡️: Bullish from yesterday’s session! We kicked off Chapter 8 of the #Bitcoin Diploma with an introduction to the Lightning Network—covering how it works, the process of opening/closing channels, and the differences between lightning and on-chain transactions. We also broke down Lightning wallets (custodial vs. self-custodial, open-source vs. closed-source) and explored practical use cases with tools like @Bitrefill, @BTC Map, and @BTCPay Server. The session wrapped up with a lively Q&A packed with great questions. Huge thanks to Tobe for leading and @Scarlette_Tumelo for moderating! We’ll be back on Monday with hands-on exercises, including how to open and use Lightning wallets together with more practical. Can’t wait! #BitcoinAfricaStory #BitcoinEducation cc: @My First Bitcoin

Bitcoin is for everyone → even students are proving it. In our recent program, we brought Bitcoin to a summer school program, and it was worth it. 🎥 Student Reflections from our recent Program: Money, Savings & Bitcoin for Students 🎥 🗣️ “I learned the importance of money, savings, and Bitcoin.” 🗣️ “I learned that Bitcoin goes up and down — that is volatility.” 🗣️ “Nobody can cheat us of our money because of what we’ve been taught today.” This is why grassroots Bitcoin education matters: students are building financial literacy and learning to see money differently. 🌍⚡ We keep building.
Financial Literacy for Students 🌍 This Wednesday, September 3rd, Bitcoin Africa Story will host a pilot program at His Touch School this summer — introducing participating students to the basics of money and Bitcoin as a digital innovation. Why it Matters: ➣ Understanding how money works. ➣ Exploring digital innovations such as Bitcoin. ➣ Building financial literacy for informed choices. This pilot program is the first step in expanding financial literacy programs to more schools. And yes — it’s FREE 🚀 Because knowledge is the best investment students can make in themselves. 🚨Disclaimer: This program is for educational purposes only. cc: @Blink Wallet, @npub1ekqd...q22r, @Zaawaadi, @Destiny, @HRF, @CK image
