atproto is based on the idea of healthy competition between different services (moderation, algorithms, even the appviews themselves, etc) while activitypub is more about different communitarian "instances" sharing with other instances (communes) so this actually kinda makes sense

There are centralized pieces of Bluesky but they are all replaceable. I do think that they should be easier to replace and that it is difficult right now but also don't forget they're replaceable, it's pretty important
