In Brussels, Zelenskyy sat down with @vonderleyen to hammer out Europe’s Ukraine playbook before heading to Washington.
The message from the EU side: unity or bust.
They want a ceasefire only if it comes with real security guarantees, not just “good luck” handshakes.
They also agreed sanctions have to keep squeezing Russia so Putin doesn’t get a second act.
For Zelenskyy, the Brussels meeting was less about photo ops and more about making sure Europe doesn’t splinter once Trump strolls in with his own peace “vision.”
Think of it as Brussels doing preemptive damage control before D.C. becomes a circus.
Zelenskyy thanked Ursula and the bloc for holding the line, saying Europe’s unity is still Ukraine’s best shot at something resembling a just peace.
