The disappointment is massive. I grew up with the whole remembrance culture and I’ve admired my country for it. But the lesson, to me, was always “never again—to anyone, anywhere.” What other lesson is there to draw from a #genocide, other than that we—all of us—cannot accept any kind of genocide, anywhere in the world!
