Bitcoin Arusha x DADAS: 1,000 Reusable Pad Kits for Girls in Kilimanjaro
Bitcoin Arusha, in partnership with DADAS Juhudi na Maarifa Group, has launched the Hedhi Huru Initiative — empowering girls in the Kilimanjaro region with 1,000 reusable menstrual pad kits and financial education. Each kit is handmade by women artisans in Moshi, supporting both girls’ education and women’s economic independence.
Many girls in Tanzania miss school due to lack of menstrual products. This project tackles that by:
• Giving girls reusable pad kits lasting up to 3 years
• Creating local jobs for women
• Reducing waste with sustainable materials
For $30 (75,000 TZS), you can support one girl for three years — just $10 a year to keep her learning and thriving.
Each kit includes pads, underwear, a washcloth, soap, waterproof bags, and a kitenge carry bag. Distributions will also include Bitcoin education sessions led by Bitcoin Arusha and POWA255, teaching students and teachers about financial sovereignty and opportunity.
