FYI - In the past 2 weeks I've received 4 fairly realistic looking fake Social Security emails saying I need to log into my account. Each has a Case/ID number, but it differs on all of the emails.
These are scams. Never click on an email a link unless you're absolutely positive you know the sender & are expecting an email from them.
If you are unsure if an email is from the Social Security Administration, go to the Social Security website & log into check your account from there. 1/
Wow, not many guessesβ¦
These are chalcedony (L) & chert (R) reproduction drills. Someone asked how natives shaped & carved shell gorgets. I replied, sandstone, sharp flake & drilling cut-outs. This is a thread about that process. 1/ #archaeology #lithics #shell
A trend I'm seeing on #Facebook is "woodworking" accounts posting AI-produced wood furniture. Here are a few telling signs. Having been a woodworker making furniture & craft items off & on for the past 51 years & partner in a woodworking shop for a few years, I think I'm qualified to comment.
A little science with your Monday evening repast?
Ghost leaves!
Post oak (Quercus stellata) dead leaves were lying on the concrete driveway. It rained, then we had a couple of days of heavy fog. The rain & fog leached the quercitannic acid out of the leaves, bleaching the concrete under them. #science
Chalcedony core fragment from the surface collection at Site 16BE78, Beauregard Parish, LA, with a large crinoid stem impression & several different size crinoid stem pieces embedded in the matrix. It also has a weird translucent dark red mineral (stain?). 1/ #FossilFriday #Fossils #Archaeology
Hi, I'm an archaeologist.
"Show us more cats photos!"
But I have some really neat artifact photos!
"Cats or it didn't happen!"
What about flintknapping images?
"Cats! Cats! Cats! Cats!"
Oh, all right! #cats
