12 years ago tonight I went to bed, like any other night. Little did I know that my sleep would be curtailed and I’d find myself rushing my pregnant wife into hospital, where we’d soon become a family of three. It was snowing that night, but I had no concerns, for I was the proud owner of a 2011 Jeep Liberty. We made it to the hospital safely, and in good time. I remember this detail well, because when I purchased said Jeep Liberty a couple of years before all this, my wife had said, “do we really need a Jeep? Like really?!” The thing is I wanted one, because I’d not long moved to America, and I promised myself a big ol’ car. So, thinking fast I said, “well, what if you are pregnant one day, and it’s snowing and I have to drive you to the hospital?” “Unlikely,” she replied, rolling her eyes. I reminded her of this conversation several times during that drive that night. A further bunch of times throughout that the day. And have continued to do so every year since. It is one of the only times I’ve ever been right, and I’m milking that for as long as I wander this Earth.
Thanks Slack, for putting a notification in my "if something happens in here that means someone got ahold of a canary token and that would be a very bad day" channel. That notification said "hey Mike, it seems a bit quiet in here!" THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT, THANKS FOR MAKING ME CRAP MY PANTS
whenever something terrible happens and they announce, “President Trump has been briefed on the…” is that supposed to be a reassuring thing? because personally I would feel more comfortable if they briefed a horse or something.

i was informed yesterday that Atlassian has inserted an F1 racing game into Confluence. I was asked if I (as an admin) could disable it because folks were finding it's pop ups annoying. Here is what I found: "To disable the Car Racing Easter Egg feature, contact Atlassian Support. There is currently no in-product toggle for end-users to turn off this feature themselves. Support can assist with disabling the feature for your site or organization if required."

“So,” she said, the first date nerves having slowly eroded enough at this point. “You've heard all about my love of snowboarding. So tell me, do you have any extreme hobbies?” “Extreme?” He began. “Well, I guess it would all depend on how you define extreme." "Let's say, an extreme hobby is a hobby where you can injure yourself quite easily, but you still do for the enjoyment and the rush it gives you." "I see," he replied. "Well in that case, yes, I do have an extreme hobby." "Do tell," she said, encouraging him to open up. "Well, I've burned myself doing repairs on my 3D printer several times."
