small town "inconveniences". An hour long parade of motorcycles for the annual Toy Run. The route they take means there is no way to cross from one side of town to the other until it's over. And particularly for me, I am efffectively "boxed in" wothin a 5x7 block area. yikes! 3 miners trapped underground at Red Chris mine near Dease Lake. Not a lot of information right now but apparently they are in a refuge area and safe. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/miners-red-chris-mine-bc-dease-lake-1.7592096 It is a gold and copper mine in NW BC. It is closer (as the crow flies) to Juneau Alaska than Whitehorse, or Prince George.

I generally think there are way too many municipalities and arbitrary divisions in BC. We could be a lot more efficiently governed, and fairly taxed, if these were ironed out. The more than a dozen entities in the Capital Regional District are the prime example. I hope amalgamation of Saanich and Victoria happens.
