I'm mates with an elected official, nothing too high up, just council level. We made plans last week to meet up this morning and when I've gone to check the details, all the messages in the WhatsApp were set to delete after about 24 hours. I'm wondering if this is party policy and if so, what does that mean for accountability of our poltiticans if they can't even keep digital records of going for a coffee with mates?
