📍Capital Gains Tax on Crypto: 🎤 Andrew Snowden MP has raised a number of questions in Parliament on Crypto's potential risks to financial stability and also on the tax treatment of crypto. ➡️ On financial stability, Mr Snowden has asked the Treasury to assess the risks that cryptocurrency market volatility may pose to UK financial stability. 🎤 Economic Secretary Lucy Rigby KC MP said the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee continues to monitor market-related risks and that the government will introduce legislation this year to create a comprehensive regulatory regime for cryptoassets. ➡️ On Taxation, Mr Snowden also asked whether the Treasury plans to review capital gains tax treatment for crypto transactions to improve clarity and compliance.
