Someone described this as a "warm cat library" and I'm not sure why but I like it. image
ICYMI I was on PBS show "Story in the Public Square," talking about the history of disinformation and how to end the culture war. This might be the conversation you need to stay steady over the next couple of weeks.
I got this scam postcard with big red letters that said IMPORTANT NOTICE above some text urging me to call them "as soon as possible" about my mortgage loan. At the bottom in teeny letters, it said "All information provided by LeadPros, not your current lender." So I laughed, and looked up LeadPros online ... where I discovered that Trust Pilot gave the company a 2.5 star rating, despite every review giving them a 1 star rating and complaining about their scam business. image
Enough with the sexy Asian lady robots! In my latest column for New Scientist, I talk about techno-Orientalism, and why it has inspired so much bad thinking about the future -- in fiction and public policy. #scifi #futurism #technology #science
I'm way too into worldbuilding. Somebody stop me
Whaaat? You can get the Kindle version of my novel The Terraformers for just $2.99 from now until 10/9! Can you really afford to miss this opportunity to learn about moose romance, cat journalism, and a civilization of nonbinary people who live under a volcano?
Because you are all my friends, I am going to confess that I accidentally thought that Korn and Tool were the same band for the last 20 years. I apologize.
I had a weird dream that the English PM was actually named Chicken Kiev
The latest episode of @npub1wx67...7zku represents one of those glorious moments when @npub1zq7m...g2ym and I got to do TWO things we've always wanted to do: talk about microaggressions in scifi, and talk to the brilliant @npub1cwp2...a7el about the future of content moderation. It's a great listen, with two chunky segments that will make you rethink writing and the internet.
