4 years, 1 month ….all in. Is this the lambos and ₿itties part of the cycle, or meh?
Logging in to nostr after a 300 round practice session at the gun range feels like a virtual teleport back to the late 1770's...a decentralized world, where speech/ideas were protected by the individual's ability to defend them from tyranny. While the centralized vacuum of power doesn't wear a crown anymore, its tentacles reach deep into every aspect of our lives...most notably our virtual lives. Nostr and Bitcoin represent for me, unarmed resistance to the violent tendency of power to centralize, coerce, influence and steal. Solo mining, node running, transacting and educating keeps the Bitcoin Network alive and growing. In your opinion, aside from coding to improve user experience, what does NOSTR need to increase its user base?
Automatic tip request for every over the counter transaction is bad enough, but now I need to select how many bags I want to purchase to carry my purchase? Fiat can’t die fast enough. image
Solo mining is yet another floor down the bottomless ₿itcoin rabbit hole. Thank you @Solosatoshi.com 🇺🇸 for the Bitaxe giveaway. Stay humble, stack sats, add hash. image
Winter beach hunting for shark teeth and arrowheads with my youngest and pup. There’s never a bad time to walk the beach….salt air, sand and the surf makes time seem to stand still. image
Bitcoin went from .10 cents to 69k without the suits, etfs, regulatory stablecoin framework, “crypto czar”, etc. It will continue along its path with or without shitcoining DC brass. They’ll either expedite macro game theory with some sort of strategic acquisition or bend the knee later as the debt and dollar circle the drain.
For those who retired from a fiat job, living on a BTC standard. Few questions: - when did you know the time was right? - what conservative % drawdown rate do you use….is the 4% rule reasonable or too conservative given yoy BTC returns? -do you use other strategies within retirement/brokerage using equities - selling covered calls, dividend stonks, to generate income? -retirement from fiat means less to no more stacking sats….how did this sit with you mentally (big hurdle for me.) Weighing options and would love to hear from those (publicly or privately) who were a cycle or two earlier than me and have pulled the plug on traditional fiat employment.
We elected a sleazy salesman as president and are upset about $TRUMP coin. Nobody should be surprised. Is he better for the US than the alternative..yes. Is the next 4 yrs going to be a grift-fest, yes. Does the fiscal and monetary crisis on deck still lead to a mammoth printing of $’s….a resounding YES! Trump wont save us, $Bitcoin will. image
So glad Bitcoin didn't miss the street's quarterly EV delivery expectations....whew! I just checked my node, and Bitcoin still doesn't care what the experts think. 2024 was the year that the public started to question inflation and central banking. 2025 may very well mark the year where the public starts to question why they've been pouring their hard earned capital into public equities where they have no inside track on production, profits (or losses), projects, risks, etc. Blindly throwing money into stocks seems to be the riskiest of plays to me.
